  • On-Page SEO Case Study: Custom Packaging Products

On-Page SEO Case Study: Custom Packaging Products

    THE PROBLEM

Custom Packaging Products (CPP) was having trouble ranking their “money pages”.

Money pages are the pages on your website that bring you the most money i.e. your main services and products.

After closer evaluation we identified the following problems:

    1. The <H1> Title Tag was optimized for the wrong keyword
    2. The Page Title didn’t match the <H1> Title
    3. There wasn’t enough content on the topic to justify sustained ranking or to rank for more synonymous keywords
    4. Headings were being used as <H2> Title Tags when they should’ve been <H4> Title Tags (purposeful de-optimization to prevent keyword cannibalization)

    THE GOAL

    • Rank for everything related to “bulk bags”
    • Attract more qualified organic traffic & drive sales.
    • Optimize the page to rank for more organic keywords, creating tons of potential acquisition channels for the business.
    • Expand the page reach from citywide to international.

    THE STRATEGY

Going into this we knew that the competition was fierce because we were facing titans like ULINE, Amazon, & Walmart.

Due to the authority of their websites, they rank within the top 3 organic search results for nearly anything.

Therefore, our strategy was to take the Content-Driven SEO® approach by providing more unique and valuable content for buyers that needed more information before making a decision.

We noticed a gap in the market because these E-commerce giants simply had product pages displaying their bulk bags for sale, without any truly valuable information answering common questions consumers have.

So, we did an extensive phase of keyword research and found some underserved keywords that we could target to expand our ranking potential, while still optimizing the page for the main keyword.

On-page SEO can focus on tens (sometimes even hundreds) of keywords per page in some cases, depending upon what the competitors are doing and how similar Google “sees” these keywords.

In this instance, we decided a “skyscraper approach” was necessary because we wanted to provide original, useful information.

    View the page here.

    THE RESULTS

    • Organic Traffic: Increased by 175%
    • Traffic Value: Increased by 16.4%
    • Keywords: Increased by 40%

Optimizing ONLY one page also increased CPP’s sitewide organic traffic by 66 visitors in 4 months.

An impressive feat considering nothing else on the website was changed whatsoever.

Here’s a screenshot of the date the On-Page SEO changes were made 👇

Here’s a screenshot of the organic traffic today 👇

Due to the lucrative nature of the business, this project led to a MASSIVE increase in sales and the owner tells us that “the phone has been ringing off the hook”.

The ROI on this project was phenomenal and has allowed the company to start receiving bulk bag inquiries nationwide.

Furthermore, since we boosted the keywords this page ranks for by 40% they’ve started receiving traffic from tons of other search queries.

In this instance, minimal changes were made and great results were achieved.

The moral of the story is that you must evaluate the SERPs (search engine results pages) and find weak spots where you can capitalize by providing value where your competitors aren’t.

  • SEO Company Primelis | An In-Depth Case Study (2022)

SEO Company Primelis | An In-Depth Case Study (2022)

In this blog post, we will discuss everything you need to know about Primelis.

We will talk about their history, their products and services, and conduct an in-depth analysis of how they’ve been able to create such a buzz in the digital stratosphere.

We’ll also unravel how they’ve been able to generate over 67,000 monthly searches on their brand name alone!

The Best SEO Company Primelis | An Overview

Primelis is a French company that specializes in providing online marketing services. They were founded in 2009 by two entrepreneurs, Hillel Brodowicz and Philippe El Khechen.

However, at the time of founding, they were called “Net Referencement”, which was later renamed Primelis in 2016.

Since then, they have grown to 70+ employees & are headquartered in Levallois-Perret, France (According to LinkedIn).

    Primelis SEO Services + More

Primelis offers four primary digital marketing services intended to help businesses succeed online.

    The 4 main services are:

    • Search engine optimization (SEO)
    • Search engine advertising (SEA)
    • Social ads
    • Display services

So, as you can tell, they’re focused on specific verticals as opposed to being incredibly widespread like most digital marketing agencies.

In regards to SEO they offer the following services:

    • SEO Audit
    • Pilotage (Translates -> “Steering” in English)
    • Linkbuilding
    • Content Performance
    • A.S.O (App Store Optimization)
    • SEO Training

General Statistics | Primelis (As of July 23, 2022)

    • Domain Rating: 53
    • Backlinks: 2,280
    • Referring Domains: 479

So, why is there so much hype around Primelis?

As you can see in the graph above, Primelis’s web traffic seemingly skyrocketed out of nowhere in May of 2021, & has continued to rise ever since.

The vast majority of their traffic comes from two pages, their home page & their SEO services page.

And as we mentioned above, the value of their web traffic is astonishingly low, according to Ahrefs, which is the tool we’re using to analyze all of this data.

This is because virtually all of their traffic comes from the name of their brand, “Primelis”.

To illustrate: If the majority of their traffic came from a term like “SEO Services”, the value of their web traffic would be in the hundreds of thousands, because this is a universally generic search term with commercial intent, but since their visitors discover them through their brand name, the value of their traffic is exclusive to their name.

Furthermore, at the number 3 slot, we have another 3% of web traffic coming from a page about Predictive Search Optimization.

Predictive search optimization is a predictive SEO technique that leverages Google’s NLP (Natural Language Processing) Artificial Intelligence Algorithm.

In other words, it’s a process of machine learning that offers predictive suggestions based on input. (See Image Below)

    Back to Primelis.

A couple of questions come to mind such as:

    1. How is it possible to generate 67,000/monthly searches on a brand name search?
    2. How come they get virtually no traffic to their other web pages when they claim to be an SEO agency?
    3. Is Primelis using Predictive Search Optimization (PSO) to gain a disproportionate amount of monthly searches by convincing Google to show their company name after “SEO Company”?

    The Analysis | Social Media

Is Primelis utilizing social media to brand their business & grow a cult-like following?

    Yes & no.

They have a LinkedIn presence, with 1,896 followers, but they don’t seem to have any other social media channels as of now.

The team regularly posts content on LinkedIn, although, all of their posts are written in French.

Consequently, we’ve excluded social media as a candidate that could be causing their massive organic search volume.

How come Primelis gets virtually no traffic from their other web pages?

Simply put, they don’t have enough content or authority to rank the pages that they have on their site.

The general nature of the pages on their site serves the end user with a positive navigational/informational experience, but they do not have enough optimized content to rank these terms in the SERPs (search engine results pages).

As previously mentioned, ranking generic terms like “SEO Services” is incredibly difficult & simply not in Primelis’s wheelhouse with their current standings.

Is Primelis using Predictive Search Optimization (PSO) to gain a disproportionate amount of monthly traffic?

We analyzed this in real-time by inputting “SEO Company P” into Google, & as you can see, Primelis is not one of the suggested predictions.

Interestingly enough, Pakistan shows up before them even though the IP address of our writer is located in Houston, Tx.

Therefore, we’ve excluded the possibility of Primelis being able to gain a disproportionate share of the traffic by manipulating Google’s autocomplete AI.

PSO by Primelis is a tactic that seems to be integrated into their broader digital marketing strategy, as opposed to the sole reason for online success.

Do they have tons of positive Google Reviews?

    Not at all.

In fact, they only have 3 Google reviews, which were submitted over a year ago, & there’s no corresponding text associated with the review.

Kind of odd for a company that consistently gets over 150,000 visitors per month to their website alone.

So, how are they able to generate so much traffic & appear to be a renowned SEO agency?

The last remaining variable is PPC.

We believe that Primelis has been running massive branded PPC campaigns through Google Ads, & as a result of this, they were able to generate a viral buzz around their company name.

Whether intentionally or incidentally, it’s definitely working in their favor.

If there’s one thing that Primelis has going for them, it’s an original, memorable company name that can easily be branded.

However, take all of this with a grain of salt as it’s just a working theory & we have no way of truly knowing the extent of their marketing efforts, we can only do our best to analyze/evaluate the data at hand.

    The Conclusion

Crazy things happen on the internet, & if you get caught in a tsunami-like wave, you can reap the benefits of massive amounts of organic search traffic.

However, this is similar to going viral on TikTok with over a billion plays, it rarely ever happens, & it’s by no means a reliable strategy for marketing your business.

It’s best to leverage multiple acquisition channels to diversify your traffic sources, this will make your website immensely more valuable, as it is a much safer & more sustainable strategy for digital growth.

We hope you enjoyed this case study, & if you want to learn about our cutting-edge SEO methodologies & explore the opportunity of a digital partnership, get in touch with us today!

    More Questions & Answers

    What is PSO by Primelis?

Predictive search optimization (PSO) is a technique used by Primelis to improve its search engine rankings. PSO uses artificial intelligence (AI) to predict which terms users will likely type into Google. This allows them to create content around long-tail keywords which have the potential to generate high levels of traffic from organic search results.

What is the SEO strategy that Primelis uses?

Primelis likely uses a combination of paid search (PPC) and organic search optimization (SEO) to generate high levels of traffic. Their company name is easy to remember and brand, which may give them an advantage in PPC campaigns. The unique approach they’ve taken to search engine optimization is to be inventive by coining terms & phrases, as well as positioning themselves to be able to conduct business globally.

Additionally, they have a general focus on delivering a positive user experience. While they may not have enough content or authority to rank for some of the more generic terms, their inventive use of language allows them to rank for more unique terms. Overall, Primelis’ SEO strategy is one that focuses on being unique and providing a good user experience.

  • General Contractor Websites

    General Contractor Websites

As a contractor, your website is one of your most important marketing tools. It’s where potential customers will go to learn more about you and your services.

That’s why it’s important to make sure your website is optimized for search engines and looks great on all devices. In this blog post, we will discuss 7 tips for optimizing your contractor website.

    Design Matters

Your website’s design is important for (at least) 3 reasons:

    1. Your site needs to look professional in order to give visitors the impression that you’re a reputable contractor
    2. Your website’s design impacts your search engine ranking
    3. People don’t trust paying companies that have illegitimate websites

Search engines take into account things like whether or not your site is responsive (meaning it looks good on mobile devices), how fast your site loads, if your title tags are structured correctly, etc.

All of these various elements constitute a holistic website that’s able to outrank the competition by appearing in organic search results.

    Use Keywords Strategically

“Keywords” are the search terms every day people type into search engines to discover what they’re looking for.

In order for your website to show up in search engine results, you need to use keywords strategically. This means using relevant keywords throughout your website’s content, including in your page titles and in the tags for each page.

You can use a free tool like Google AdWords Keyword Planner to research which keywords are most relevant to your business.

Make Your Contact Information Easy to Find

When potential customers visit your website, they should be able to easily find your contact information seamlessly.

You should include your phone number and email address prominently on your homepage and & have direct call-to-actions throughout your site.

After all, a website should be measured by its ability to produce new business & be an asset to your organization.

You should also include a contact form on your website that pertains to an inquiry for your main services.

    Ex: (“Request A Quote”)

    Include Testimonials and Reviews

If you have any testimonials or reviews from past clients, be sure to include them on your website, it’s one of the most important ways to induce psychological trust from people that don’t know you at all.

Plus, it demonstrates you’re a reputable contractor with a track record of providing quality work with exceptional customer service.

Think about it, would you want to give money to an organization with 3.5 star reviews?

Exactly! Leverage your great work to your advantage by creating meaningful relationships with your customers so that they’re more inclined to speak highly of your organization in the future.

    Add Photos and Videos

Including photos and videos on your website makes it stand out from the competition & provides a better UX (user experience).

People are more likely to remember & be impressed by a website that includes visuals, so be sure to add some high-quality photos and videos showcasing your work.

However, make sure your images are properly compressed .JPEG files so that your site still loads quickly.

Google does analyze site speed as one of its ranking factors, so if your site is incredibly slow, not only will you be providing a negative user experience & losing visitors & potential business, but you’ll be losing potential ranking positions as well.

How To Design A General Contractor Website

Double-check that you have your branding prerequisites in order such as the following:

    • Logo
    • Color Palette
    • Typography Set
    • Tagline
    • Brand Voice
    • Brand Positioning

    Services

Next, you need to make sure you understand the main services that your company offers, as well as the more niche-related services.

This will help you infuse keywords into your website’s architecture, making your site more likely to be discovered by organic search.

As a general rule of thumb, you should dedicate each web page to one main keyword & a set of variants.

    Navigation

Visitors should be able to find what they need quickly and easily. If you don’t design your site in a way where things are easily discoverable, people will become distracted/confused & are much more likely to leave your site.

Your main navigation bar should consist of your main contracting services, information about your company, a page where people can find out how to contact you, & possibly a gallery of past completed projects.

The footer can contain other pages you develop that won’t fit into the main navigation bar without ruining the experience. This allows you to create more pages while maintaining a pleasant UI (user interface).

    Aesthetics

Make sure your website is visually appealing. This means using clean and professional design elements, and ensuring that all of your content is well-written and error-free.

People always make initial judgments based on appearance, even though they may tell you otherwise, statistically, it’s a psychological fact.

Therefore, you need to use beautiful templates or hire our proficient team of search engine optimization experts & web designers.

    Optimization

Optimization is the centerpiece of your website that holds everything together. A proper SEO architecture ensures that your site will be developed for organic visibility.

After all, we believe that websites should exist in order to bring in new business & aid the development of a sustainable brand.

If you’d like to explore the topic in further detail see our website optimization services.

    Calls To Action

Include calls to action throughout your site so that visitors know what to do next. Place CTA’s strategically throughout your site in the form of buttons & web forms.

Use colors that stand out from the rest of your site so that the CTA jumps at the viewer, insinuating they should take action.

Taking advantage of calls to action will boost the CRO (conversion rate optimization) of your website, making it more successful in producing the desired results.

    Conclusion

By following these simple tips, you can design a contractor website that is both effective and appealing.

If you’re not sure where to start, there are plenty of great web design and development firms that specialize in creating contractor websites. Find one that you feel confident with and work with them to create a site that reflects your business in the best light possible.

With a little effort, you can have a contractor website that helps you attract new business and grow your bottom line.

    More Questions & Answers

What should a contractor website include?

A contractor’s website should include a section devoted to the contractor’s biography, information about the company, services offered, contact information, and a gallery of past completed projects.

How do I build a contractor website?

If you’re unfamiliar with web design and development, it might be best to hire a professional to help you create your contractor website. A good web design/development firm will be able to create a website that is both visually appealing and effective in helping you attract new business.

If you’re interested in DIYing it, there are plenty of great resources available online (such as WordPress themes specifically for contractor websites) that can help you create a website on your own.

  • National SEO Strategy

    National SEO Strategy

    Key Takeaways

    • You have to gain topical authority to rank nationally
    • Boosting your domain rating & consistently creating optimized content are the two most important factors to being competitive
    • Each industry/market is completely unique so we have to use blanket strategies & custom methods

There are many different factors that go into making a national SEO strategy successful, and discounting important variables could make your campaign fail.

In this blog post, we will discuss the tactics and strategies needed to successfully employ a national SEO campaign.

We will also provide some helpful tips on how to avoid common mistakes made by business owners when trying to optimize their websites for a national audience.

If you’re in need of an immediate campaign see our national SEO services.

    The research

Preceding the creation of any web page is a deep phase of keyword research & competitor analysis.

Next, we deeply assess the business to determine exactly what types of services and/or products are being offered.

With this information, we’ll be able to create pages that satisfy search intent, both for the user & the Googlebot.

    (*Key Note*)

    • Every industry/niche is completely different in terms of search competitiveness, so we have to alter our approach accordingly.

The 4 types of search intent

1.) Informational (How, what, who, where, why, etc.)

2.) Navigational (Brand names, name of a product/service)

3.) Commercial Investigation (Best, top, pricing, review, etc.)

    4.) Transactional (Buy, order, purchase)

    Domain Rating | Optimized Content

To compete on a national level (in most markets) we need the following two things:

    1.) A high domain rating

    2.) SEO-optimized content

Boosting your domain rating requires link building.

Therefore, a vital part of our national SEO strategy is the creation of high-quality, relevant backlinks.

In order to rank well in the search engines, you need to have high-quality links pointing back to your website.

How do you create a national SEO strategy?

Creating a national SEO strategy requires a clear, well-defined roadmap as to where you need to go & how you need to get there.

When you’re generating content at scale you need to have a refined, methodical approach, or else backtracking is inevitable, & in some cases completely unavoidable.

Therefore, once we’ve conducted keyword research, performed competitor analysis, & understood our client’s business, we begin creating our topical map.

Pictured above is a snapshot of a small segment of a topical map that we’ve created for content marketing.

This mind mapping technique allows us to delve deeply into advanced categorization, which is useful for:

    • Our website structure
    • A positive UX (user experience)
    • Crawling/indexing of our web pages
    • Planned content creation
    • Interlinking our pages/posts
    • Gaining topical authority

Remember, the goal is to raise our domain rating while gaining topical authority.

This technique extends our tier, or coverage, of potential keywords that we can rank as time progresses.

It also tells Google that we’re the “experts” in said “field”, since we’re creating optimized content on virtually every subject matter within our niche.

The 3 main advantages of this national SEO strategy:

    1. Consistent increase in targeted web traffic
    2. Boosted domain rating which extends the range of potential keywords we can rank in the future
    3. Exceptionally enhanced digital real estate

How hard is it to rank on a national scale?

It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to rank on a national scale. You need to have high-quality content, links, and a strong domain rating. Without any of these, it will be difficult to rank your website nationally.

It also takes a lot of time. None of these advanced tactics/strategies can be implemented overnight. As discussed, every industry/market is entirely unique so the competition will vary, but a realistic timeline is at least 6 months – 1 year.

    Table of Contents

In this article, we will be covering what to look for when seeking web design services for small business. Whether you’re dealing with a freelance web designer or a web design agency. If you find this information useful please share this article with someone else who may find it valuable as well!

What To Look For When Seeking Web Design Services

    Let’s start with the obvious.

You need a web designer that can create an aesthetically pleasing website.

A site that provides a good UX (user experience) because of its UI (user interface).

Think Apple, they’ve revolutionized the way we use telephones because they’re able to take something extremely complex, & put it onto an interface that nearly anyone can use.

The same should be true for your website, it should be sophisticated, yet easy to navigate.

    Here’s the kicker:

If you hire a person or an agency that only knows how to design websites, you’re wasting your money.

    Here’s why:

“90.63% of all pages in our index get zero traffic from Google, and 5.29% of them get ten visits per month or less.” Ahrefs

That means that over 95% of websites are almost completely undiscoverable.

Consequently, you need to be able to determine if the web designers know anything about SEO (search engine optimization).

Creating an SEO-friendly website is an absolute must if your site is to become a digital asset.

What Questions Should I Ask A Web Designer?

    1. Can you show me some references to sites that you’ve created in the past?
    2. Have you designed websites that are getting a substantial amount of monthly traffic?
    3. What do you know about SEO?
    4. What’s the most important part of web design?
    5. How many revisions are we allowed?
    6. What’s the timeline for project completion?
    7. Will you provide the copyrighting & the imagery, or do we need to?

These are seven of the most essential questions you need to be asking a potential web designer.

We analyze a lot of websites, & the common denominator is that most sites are just undiscoverable online brochures.

Nobody can even find most people’s websites!

    Much less their target market.

    However, there is a solution.

When you work with a skilled agency that has a proven track record of generating high-quality web designs that stand the test of time, you’re creating a digital asset.

You’re investing in digital real estate that becomes more valuable over time.

Increased site traffic & conversion rates = more sales = more revenue for your small business.

    Design Isn’t Everything

As we mentioned, design isn’t everything.

Design plays an integral role in the overall development of a site, but it’s only one piece of the puzzle.

Your site architecture must be properly created  & continually updated to make your web pages discoverable.

Web Designers should have a comprehensive understanding of keywords & know how to implement them into your site’s menu, titles, headings, text, etc.

Furthermore, you need to understand your brand’s message & your company’s ideal target market before you begin designing, or you’re sure to be left with countless revisions.

Knowing your audience helps you tailor the content on your website directly to your target market.

Implementing conversion rate optimization systems helps you convert pre-qualified leads into customers.

At Lords Only we take a results-driven approach to web design to make your website a money-making digital asset.

    Red Flags

    • Designers that discount the importance/relevance of search engine optimization
    • Web Designers that can’t generate data backing their claims to be able to get a significant amount of traffic to your site
    • Extremely cheap web design services
    • Guarantees of “getting you to the top of Google” or claiming substantial results in a brief timeline (<6 months)

11 Questions To Ask A Client Before Starting A Web Design Project (2022)

    Facebook
    Twitter
    LinkedIn

Without further ado, these are the ’11 Questions To Ask A Client Before Starting A Web Design Project.’ 🤘

1.) What Does Your Business do?

Before jumping right into the design process, you need to understand your client’s business.

We can not stress the importance of this enough.

Exceptional web designers/developers understand their client’s business very well. Understanding your client’s niche allows you to design the site’s architecture (pages, keywords, etc.) around the products/services they’re offering.

Furthermore, doing the proper research will enhance your copyrighting skills & enable you to charge higher rates for your web design services.

In our web design agency, we almost always provide the copyrighting for our client’s because we take the time to investigate their business.

This is a win-win situation because we’re paid more for being the experts, & the client can rest easy knowing that everything’s being taken care of on the digital end.

Having a deep understanding of your client’s business will enhance the following:

    • Overall Web Design
    • Google Page Rank (Discoverability)
    • Copyrighting (Topical Relevance Of The Text)
    • Site Structure (Headings, URL’s, Title’s, Meta Descriptions, etc.)
    • Value Of Your Services
    • Conversion Rates

2.) Do you currently have a website? (Are We Designing Or Redesigning)

The approach is totally different when redesigning a website vs. designing a website from scratch.

See; Web Design Services For Small Business

Before redesigning a website you need to answer the following questions:

    • What’s the main reason why you want to redesign your website?
    • Is the website outdated?
    • Is the site non-responsive (Doesn’t responsively adapt to different screen sizes & devices)

Or maybe the website is sleek & modern but it’s not converting potential clients.

Whatever the reason may be, it’s your job to identify the main reason your client needs to redesign their website.

♦ An important thing to note here is that a client generally will have no idea why they need to redesign their website, all that they will have is a biased opinion ♦

Therefore, it’s your job to position yourself as a consultant so that you can identify the problem areas your client’s facing & provide creative solutions.

99% of the time businesses are completely unaware of the fact that they’re getting virtually no web traffic because of their site’s architecture.

This is the dilemma that’s often faced when websites are created by designers & developers with zero SEO expertise.

We do not advise hiring amateur designers/developers (If you are an amateur designer/developer do yourself a favor & learn SEO, it will make your skillset exponentially more valuable).

Need help redesigning or designing a site?

Book a complimentary consultation with one of our Expert SEO Consultants.

3.) What’s The Main Message You Want To Get Across To Your Audience?

There has to be a reason your prospect wants to design a website, it’s your job to find out what it is!

What message are we attempting to convey to people when they visit our site?

Are we trying to persuade them to buy our products/services?

Maybe the site is purely educational & filled with information to answer specific questions that people have.

Whatever the case may be, know your client, & know your market.

Marketing strategies differ between businesses & where they’re positioned within their respective industries.

Understanding your client’s brand position will save you countless revisions & allow you to effectively incorporate images/texts in alignment with your client’s brand strategy.

4.) What Are Your Long-Term Business Goals & Objectives?

We want our web designs to have longevity & increase the value of our client’s digital real estate.

A well-rounded understanding of your client’s goals/objectives will enable you to know which keywords to place the most emphasis upon.

In other words, you should create individual pages for your main keywords.

    ♦ For example: ♦

Let’s say you’re going to be designing a website for a personal injury lawyer.

In your consultation session you need to identify & evaluate exactly what service the personal injury lawyer offers, & if they offer multiple services you need to find out which is the most lucrative among them.

    ♦ Why? ♦

Because we’re going to place more emphasis on these key terms which will get our client more qualified leads, higher targeted web traffic, & hopefully increase their revenue.

Additionally, it’s important to know the long-term goals of your prospective client so that you can custom-tailor your design process & set yourself up for success.

Identifying our client’s long-term goals & objectives allows us to know which keywords we should be focusing on ranking for long-term.

5.) How Much Is A Sale Worth To You?

This is a key point which should be articulated for the purpose of closing the deal.

During your consultation process you need to help your prospect see the value of your services.

We need to shift the perspective of web design being an “expense” to being an investment.

One way to shift the mindset of your prospective client is to help them understand that investing in a well designed website is actually going to be an asset.

That is to say, it’s going to generate more revenue for your business.

However, there are some key variables that need to be taken into consideration so that this “blanket statement” is not debunked as completely untrue.

    1. Your website must be maintained & stay up to date
    2. You must invest in SEO & it must be done properly by experts
    3. Backlinks do matter & hold a lot of weight in Google’s ranking algorithm
    4. Competition varies drastically from industry to industry

6.) How Are You Currently Marketing Yourself & Your Business?

The reason we ask our prospective client’s this is to determine where they’re at in the marketing process, how comfortable they’re investing in marketing (We’ll leverage this later), & to gain a better overall understanding of how they market their products and/or services.

This question is astonishingly powerful because your prospect may say, “Gosh, well, I guess I’m not really doing too much marketing I thought people would just kind of find me.”

Yeah, so did we 🥲. (Jk we’re professionals)

On a more serious note, we always strive to ADD VALUE to businesses that we partner with. For us, this is the most useful consultation strategy, & it allows us to foster some incredible relationships.

Furthermore, this question opens the door to sell other services (assuming you offer more than one).

During this part of the consultation we try to find out if the prospect can benefit from; Social Media Management, Brand Strategy, or SEO, because we’re highly proficient in those areas & we know that we can grow businesses rapidly by managing their entire digital presence.

In conclusion, you’ll be much more effective in the web design consultation process if you take a genuine interest in the success of your client.

    7.) Who’s Your Target Market?

Finding out your client’s target market is crucial because it allows you to cater your web design directly to them.

You need to speak to the customer & they need to relate to you.

This is why good design is a sophisticated art form, because it’s difficult to do, & only a few can do it well.

Every decision you make throughout the designing process should have the consumer in mind, because that’s ultimately who we’re selling to.

You may be creating the website for the business owner, but it should be designed for the potential buyer.

At Lords Only, we allocate a good deal of time to understanding target markets so that we can successfully employ our designs.

This ensures our web designs have longevity, since we’ve taken the time to understand our markets search behavior.

Once you understand search intent you can determine what search terms you should be ranking for.

This will give you quite the competitive edge, since a lot of websites are only ranking for certain keywords by happenstance.

8.) Can You Provide Some Examples Of Websites You Like?

This is for contextual purposes only.

Gathering an idea of the client’s taste for design will help you better understand how you should design the look & feel of their website.

Since design is such a subjective matter, this question can save you countless revisions & enhance the probability of customer satisfaction.

While you should not aim to copy another site exactly, you can use it as a loose reference while designing.

    9.) Do you have pictures?

If the client has pictures, great.

However, most of the time this is not the case & you need to be prepared to present creative solutions.

High-quality images can be found on Unsplash or Shutterstock.

Although, be wary of the file size & dimensions of images you’re downloading photos from third-party sites, as non-optimized photos may slow down your site significantly.

Always aim to use a lazy load plug-in to keep your site speed fast.

A good lazy load plug-in by WP Rocket can be found here.

    10.) What’s Your Budget?

A lot of consultants do everything right, but leave out the most important question!

    “What’s your budget?”

You need to become skilled at asking this question in a savvy manner.

Additionally, the client’s design requirements must be in alignment with their allocated budget or there will be an imbalance.

No, we’re not designing a 25-page website about Astrophysicists for $1,500.

    Good luck though!

Remember, it’s your job as a web design consultant to showcase the value of your services & deliver the results.

If you can do those two things consistently & effectively, then you will succeed.

11.) Will You Be Needing Any Graphic Design Services?

This is your chance to upsell!

If you have an agency with Graphic Designers on hand, then this is the perfect time to secure more business.

We’ve landed Web Design projects & tacked on additional sales by offering our logo design services.

Again, this is a win-win situation where the client gets an exceptional logo & a fantastic website.

Our ability to position ourselves as branding experts has enabled us to do some pretty cool things, & we’re only getting started.

In order to define “The Best Digital Marketing Agency” we need to ask, “What does it mean to be ‘The Best Digital Marketing Agency?’ In a world of subjectivity we will do our best to remain objective & uncover the true nature of this bold statement.

First off, to be the best means to be the most knowledgeable, skilled, effective, & consistent. These qualities make up the characteristics of the best digital marketing agencies.

Additionally, you could say that the best digital marketing agencies are the highest paid companies that generate the best results. Yes, there can be an imbalance between pay & results in this industry. Unfortunately, there are tons of agencies that play the numbers game & close as many deals as possible & then forget about you altogether.

Therefore, the harsh reality is that outstanding digital marketing agencies can get caught up in the mix of a negative stigma. In other words, there are bad agencies that do not care about the success of your business! So choose wisely if you’re looking to hire a digital marketing agency.

However, there are also trustworthy agencies that specialize in helping businesses grow & build faster than we ever thought was possible before the advent of the internet.

Every project & situation in the digital marketing realm is entirely unique, & therefore it should be treated accordingly. What works to get a plumbing company ranking well on Google damn sure won’t work for your luxury fashion brand.

What Does A Digital Marketing Agency Do?

A Digital Marketing Agency provides online marketing services in hopes of generating more business for their clients.

Essentially, an agency uses a variety of methods & mediums in hopes of creating more revenue through the conversion of qualified leads.

Targeted engagement is the key to providing elite digital marketing services. If you can get the right people to discover your client’s business on a consistent basis, then you have the ability to convert pre-vetted leads.

When executed properly, digital marketing is one of the most effective methods for the long-term growth of businesses. Therefore, everything across the digital forefront must be optimized or your efforts will ultimately end up being wasted. If you provide exceptional customer service, a high level of personability, a results-oriented strategy, & complete transparency, then you have a chance at competing with the best digital marketing agencies.

Furthermore, the best digital marketing agencies don’t take your money & put you on the back burner (although the market is saturated with companies that do). Instead, they consult with their prospects to discover their specific goals, objectives, & vision for the future of their business.

Afterwards, they create a unique strategy custom-tailored to that individual (or company’s) direct business objectives. This is where most agency’s go wrong. They focus too much on getting the sale & fail to invest in the quality of their own services. It’s really a shame. Never trust a company that “claims” they can get you to the number one spot in Google for a specific keyword (or a finite promise of some other kind).

The best we can do is persuade Google that you deserve to be showcased in the number one spot because you’re an expert in your professional field & have topical authority on the subject matter.

Digital marketing should be an investment, not an expense, because the long term success of your brand is dictated by where you appear in search results.

Fun fact: Over 75% of clicks are shared between the 1,2, & 3 spots on the first page of Google.

Why Should I Invest in Digital Marketing?

Good question. Maybe you should, maybe you shouldn’t, it depends on what you want.

What are your business goals? Is growing/scaling your business important to you?

Maybe all of your business comes through word of mouth & you’re enthralled to be doing your dream job on a referral only basis. Power to you, but this article is not for that type of person.

It’s not really a matter of if you should invest in digital marketing services or not, it’s more about how & when you should.

Let’s play a game. Imagine you have an outdated, ugly, non-responsive website with low-quality images & tons of typing errors. What does that say about your business? How do you think people are going to perceive your company? Do you think people will feel compelled to invest in your products & services?

Your website is digital real estate & most-likely the single most important reflection of your business.

Now imagine you have a stunning website with breathtaking visuals, informative content, exceptional design, & well-structured SEO. See where we’re going? People will literally give you their credit card information because you’ve created a positive perception of professionalism & trustworthiness.

If you’re going to have a website designed (or redesigned), make sure the agency (or person) knows how to properly lay out the SEO architecture beforehand, & doesn’t blindly build you a pretty site doomed to get inevitably zero traffic.

What Is SEO & Why Is It Important?

SEO stands for search engine optimization & it’s important because it’s how Google & other related search engines give you accurate search results.

SEO services are carried out in accordance with Google’s algorithm. In other words, SEO experts structure & create written content in a way that gives Google what it wants.

We use specific tactics & strategies that adhere to the set list of parameters that Google is searching for, so that we can show up near the top of search results.

The reason SEO is so important is because the internet is so accessible nowadays.

People conduct research & make purchases online without thinking twice about it.

Therefore, showing up on the first page of search results for popular keywords is worth a fortune.

Imagine owning a law firm & every time someone searches “lawyer near me” you show up in the number one spot. Your phone’s going to be ringing off the hook. You’ll practically be able to name your price.

Hell, you’ll be so busy you’ll probably have to hire more lawyers.

Now, imagine you own a law firm that appears on the third page of Google for the most lucrative, local keywords.

    Exactly…. Crickets.

Now you can see how valuable it is to rank well on Google for the right terms so that your customers can find you!

Will SEO Bring Me More Leads?

61% of B2B marketers stated that SEO and organic traffic generate more leads than any other marketing initiative. (HubSpot)

When you’re ranking incredibly high for niche related keywords with commercial intent, you’re getting tons of targeted web traffic.

People are searching for the products and/or services that you’re offering with buyers intent, clicking on your site, & hopefully completing a transaction.

It’s like a dream come true. Goodbye cold leads!

Imagine having hot leads coming directly to your business every day. This is the power of what proper search engine optimization is capable of.

Furthermore, the more you increase your page rank, build up high-quality backlinks, & keep up with the maintenance of your site, the more authoritative you become.

Google starts to look at you as the expert within a particular field because you’re supplying high-quality content consistently within your niche.

Therefore, in conclusion, yes SEO should bring you more leads, but it will take time.

Your web traffic can’t go from 10 visitors today to 100,000 tomorrow. This would appear insanely inorganic.

Your web presence will most likely grow in a linear fashion & it takes time for your web pages to be indexed, trust to be established, & authority to be gained (along with a variety of other factors).

How To Show Up On Search Results

To show up on search results you must be ranking for certain keywords.

Keywords are essentially search terms that people type into search engines when they’re looking for something.

Google’s algorithm is attempting to show you the most relevant content in regards to what you’ve searched.

Location also plays an enormous role, as the “near me” search term has been massively growing in popularity.

Moreover, it makes sense that you’d want to see local mechanics if you were searching for “affordable mechanics nearby.”

    If you want to compete for the top spots in Google then you need to do the following;

    • Perform extensive keyword research & identify the terms worth ranking for within your specific business niche
    • Correctly structure all of the content on your pages/posts (Headings | Text | Page Titles | Meta Descriptions | Slugs (URL’S) | Image Titles | Alt Tags | Etc.)
    • (Optimal structure is imperative because it ensures the weight of your terms/content is being properly distributed throughout the pages on your website)
    • Acquire tons of high-quality backlinks from sites with a high domain authority within your businesses industry
    • Continuously add excellent content to your website, keep up with ever-changing keyword popularity, & monitor the search behaviors of your target market

    Not sure if it has?

Before embarking on a backlink campaign or going the extra mile to tackle the dauntless task of off-page SEO, you need to ensure that your on-page SEO is on point.

In other words, you can make the best homemade icing in the world, but if your cake tastes like shit, then what good is it really?

We’re going to assume you have a website, but you’re getting virtually no traffic.

You might be thinking, “Why is nobody coming to my site?”

It might be the most beautiful website in the world, but without performing the necessary keyword research & correctly implementing these “focus words” throughout your website, it’s very unlikely that anyone will ever find you.

Therefore, before hiring an agency or a freelancer, you need to verify that they know exactly what they’re doing.

They should be able to provide real-time examples & statistics of client’s they’ve worked with in the past that have a considerable amount of monthly traffic.

Let’s face it, you want your website to be discovered. You want more quality leads. You need more conversions.
